Description
Ray Parker became known as Mr. 4-H in Oklahoma for all the work he contributed to the 4-H programs around the state. He is a 1947 graduate of Oklahoma A&M College, now Oklahoma State University (OSU), majoring in agronomy and a 1996 graduate of OSU with a master’s degree in adult education. Parker talks about being surrounded by agriculture during his youth, his educational path, and he first position with the county extension service. He describes what some of his duties were and provides detail about his work with 4-H. He discusses the many programs he was responsible for and some of his favorite memories from this time in his life. Parker mentions some of the people he worked with that helped him along the way and some of his experiences that were quite memorable. He also comments on what he has done since retiring and comments on being inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame.
