Description
Fourth-generation owner, Robert Brixey, discussed the history and beginnings of the Brixey Homestead. The land was deeded to the Brixeys in 1891 and the farm produced cotton and prairie hay, as well as cattle and various other animals. Harvey Brixey, the third-generation owner, created a clear-water lake on the land by damming up a ravine. At the time of the interview, Robert lived on the property, a few of the original structures were still standing and there was an active oil lease.
