Description
Romeyn Ninness, fourth-generation owner of the Israel Royer Homestead established in 1889, discussed the history of the land and the family that acquired it after the Sac and Fox Land Run. The original 160 acre farm produced cotton, hay, alfalfa, cows, chickens, and hogs. Romeyn's grandfather became famous for the farm's later production of pecans and sweet potatoes. At the time of the interview the land was no longer being farmed, but Romeyn's mother, Hortense Royer Ninness, continued to live on the homestead.
