Description
Roy Michael enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1949 and became part of the Korean War efforts in 1950. He discusses his time in Korea as a member of a rifle time and his unit's engagement with the Chinese at Hill 1081, and moving around the country for other battle engagements. Michael recalls the bitter cold, issues with food, and casualties. He also talks about the living conditions during war. In addition, Michael speaks about the physical and mental toll that the war has taken on him and the way that both impact him to the present day.
