Description
Royce and Joyce Bender, third-generation owners of the Bender Farms acquired in 1893, discussed the history of the land and the family that claimed it. The family took part in the Cherokee Strip Land Run in two wagons and staked claims on adjoining sections. The original 160 acre farm produced corn, oats, feed for horses, horses, and cattle. At the time of the interview, in partnership with their son Todd and his wife, Royce and Joyce were farming wheat, cattle, and alfalfa.
