Description
Scotty Herriman, born in 1949, discusses his time in farming and conservation in Nowata County, Oklahoma. He talks about some of his practices such as cover crops and no-till and about some of the issues for farmers in his area of the state. Herriman explains how conservation and preservation differ and speaks about some of the changes he has seen in farming equipment. He recalls his youth and farming with his father and grandparents and shares stories of his grandfather transitioning from mules to a tractor. Herriman also recounts a humbling experience with severe flooding and ends by commenting on how thankful he is for farming experiences and the importance of faith and family.
