Stan Rice, a 1970 graduate of Panhandle State University with a degree in agronomy, discusses his thirty-year career with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS), now the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). He talks about how he became interested in agriculture and soil science and shares a few of his experiences with challenging situations and people. Rice also talks about his projects with soil erosion, including planting vegetation on creek banks, as well as his work with wildlife conservation. He also provides background information about the SCS and conservation in general.
