Description
Sue Hoffman, teacher at Stillwater High School, talks about her education background including her experience in a one room schoolhouse and graduating from Oklahoma State University in business education. Hoffman has been a teacher at Stillwater High School for 45 years and recalls participating in the 1990 Oklahoma teachers' walkout which she explained was about many of the same issues the 2018 walkout was over. Hoffman discusses her feelings concerning both protests and the question of how long it should last in order to hold support but not be seen as overdoing it. Hoffman expresses her gratitude to her administration and community for sticking by teachers during this time and Stillwater's support of education. Hoffman also touches on what she believes the Oklahoma legislature needs to do in order to keep this from happening again.
