Suzanne Burks, a graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) and emeriti director of University Counseling Services, recalls the early days of the formation of Pete’s Pet Posse, OSU’s pet therapy program. She talks about the reaction to the program, the process of becoming an owner/handler, and the importance of Ann Hargis and Kendria Cost to the program’s success. She explains her enthusiasm and support for having pet therapy dogs on campus as well as the value to students, faculty, and staff.
