Tamara 'Tammi' Belko, from Rock River, Ohio, is a gifted intervention specialist in her district. She works in a 1:1 school district, where before the COVID-19 pandemic each student had each been given their own device. However, even with that access, her students still had a hard time last spring joining in and staying engaged in learning. Tammi talked about the ups and downs of life in the pandemic. She enjoyed the rich and fun family times, and at other times the stress of the pandemic got to her. Writing with the Ethical ELA teacher-poets brought comfort as she read their poems and wrote and shared her own--sometimes whimsical and sometimes sober and haunting. She hopes in the future there will be wide availability of Internet throughout population centers so all students can access it.
