Description
Theodore 'Teddy' Simonelli was a first year Teach for America teacher working on his Master's in Education during the walkout. He discusses what it was like to observe the event from the outside and how he felt (almost) unaffected by the experience. Much of the interview then discusses the community in which he teaches and all of the ways their problems were not highlighted by the walkout. Teddy discusses how a 'mass voice' was created that left out those most marginalized by the education system -- working class communities of color.
