Tonya L. Hoover, Acting State Fire Marshal for California, graduated from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 1985. In this interview Hoover recalls her early devotion to fire safety, public service, and community. She reflects on her time maturing at OSU, studying Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology in the 1980s. Hoover mentions notable influences in her career such as Kate Dargan, and the forces to which she attributes her success in a non-traditional field for women.
