Description
Burns Hargis, the eighteenth president of Oklahoma State University (OSU), discusses his role in OSU being awarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. He recalls visiting the national office, talking with presidents of other universities, and supporting the application process. Hargis also comments on some of the elements of OSU that helped and hurt the applications. After five years of work and dedication to the goal, OSU became the Gamma of Oklahoma Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
