Description
Violet Alford Patterson was born in Clearview, Oklahoma, in Okfuskee County in 1927. Her youth was spent in the small community of Little Hill and later in Weleetka. After graduating from Clearview High School in 1946, Violet attended Langston University graduating in 1950. Following college, Violet’s first job was as a general clerk at the State Training School for Negro Boys located in Boley, Oklahoma.
