Description
W. G. Parker was born in 1914 a few miles east of Porter, Oklahoma in Wagoner County. His parents were farmers and the highest grade available to him in the county was the eighth grade. In 1929, at the age of fifteen, he traveled to Langston where he finished high school. After high school he enrolled in Langston University where he was able to play basketball and football enabling him to remain in college. He graduated in 1937 with a major in agriculture.
