Description
William Bonelli was born in 1921 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Indiana High School in 1940. Later that year he joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Hawaii. He recalls the incidents of the days leading up to December 7, 1941, the day Pearl Harbor was attacked, and the chaos that ensued. After retirement from the military, Bonelli joined the civil service as an air space systems inspection pilot. He started out in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He first came to Oklahoma to the Will Rogers Academy of the Federal Aviation Administration in March 1963, where he was an instructor in both flight inspection and instrument procedures development.
