Description
William 'Nairobi' Davis spent four years (1952-1956) in Ethiopia when his father was part of the Oklahoma State University Point Four program and the efforts to improve agricultural practices there. He recalls how his father came to be asked to join the effort, the preparations for going, and the long trip there. Davis discusses the living conditions, getting hepatitis, learning the language, attending school, and meeting Haile Selassie. He describes his father's role and a few of the things he was able to accomplish such as adding steel tips to plows. Davis also talks about his father's Extension career in Choctaw County after returning to Oklahoma.
